About

I was always chubby as a child, in a healthy kind of way. My weight didn't start becoming a problem until I turned 8. With every year that I grew, so did my weight. An additional 10lbs (4.5kgs) each year, in fact. It was so embarrassing, having to shop in the women's department because nothing in the kid's section fit me.

Once I hit adolescence, I started losing weight. I became more active, joining a sports club at school. By the time I hit 14, I had to stop the extracurricular activities. It was taking far too much time away from my studies. The pounds piled on again.

Since then, I've been fluctuating between 154-198lbs (70-90kg). It's been a long time since I've managed to squeeze into my size 12 (UK) clothes. Part of me still can't believe that when I was at my lightest, I still felt like an incredibly fat hippo. If only my then self could see me now!

But enough whining. I've had years of griping about how hard it is to lose weight, as I stuff my mouth with chips and chocolates. It's time I shut up and did something about it.

I find it hard to stay motivated, so I'm going to need a lot of help. I hope that through this blog, I can meet people that are like me, or were like me. Hopefully, together we can accomplish our weightloss goals.
