Breaking it down

I set myself some mini goals today. Managed to do 3 out of 4. They're not huge changes, but still a step towards a better lifestyle. I ate breakfast, which I normally skip. I had 3 servings of fruit, which I normally don't eat. I kept a record of my food intake and activity for the day. The last one was exercise for half an hour, which I didn't do out of pure sheer laziness. I napped instead.

Fingers crossed for a better tomorrow.

Day Two with the Mayo Clinic

I've always been in the habit of starting something and not finishing. No matter what it is - a new hobby, a new resolution, project, etc.

So I'm going to challenge myself to do this Mayo Clinic Diet for 2 weeks. That means 12 more days to go. Surely it can't be THAT hard to stick to something for 2 weeks.

It's pretty easy so far. Lots of fruits and vegetables, exercise for half an hour. I've also started using Accupedo on my phone. It's pretty cool to see how far I went for a walk, how many steps and how many calories I've burned. Might use it all day tomorrow instead of just during exercise.

Rewind!

Okay, so the whole jumping in with no plan wasn't working. I've come across the Mayo Clinic Diet, and I've only started reading the first few chapters of it. So far, it reads like a common sense guide to losing weight. In fact, it's stuff that I already know, but for some stupid reason find difficult and do not practice at all.

So we'll see how I get on with this one.

Is anyone interested in having a weightloss budy?

More to the point... anyone reading this at all? :(

Ooops.

No exercise this week. Overate once today. Yikes.

Looks like the 'no plan' thing isn't going so well either. Must sit down and write my goals properly, stick them where I can see them constantly.

And when I'm feeling particularly lazy, which is most of the time, remember to:

Perspiration Inspiration #1

"You can have anything you want if you give up the belief that you can't have it." - Dr. Anthony Robert

I give up the belief that I'll always be fat... and the belief that it's impossible for me to ever marry Chris Evans (Captain America). Heehee!

I might turn this into a weekly meme if anyone's keen? Well, if anyone's reading my blog that is! >.<

If you're interested, feel free to leave a link to your post as a comment so I can visit back! It would be nice to see something that has inspired you recently to keep aiming for your goal.

So far, so good?

Five days in, so far... I haven't really been trying hard. I even overate once.

Though I'm going to take the win that I finally did some exercise, three times this week, for half an hour each time. It's been a few years since I've done any exercise regularly.

On another note... I went pants shopping today, and had to take a size down! Every pair I tried on, I had to get a 14 instead of a 16, so yay! I didn't try jeans on though. Not brave enough just yet!

Day 1 - Optimistic

Okay, so I’m kinda going into this with no concrete plans at the moment. Which is probably not a good thing. But I’ve started plan after plan after plan, and when it finally came down to crunch time… poof!
I already know what I have to do and what I shouldn’t do if I really want to lose weight. Eat healthy food, exercise, drink lots of water, avoid junk food… it’s the actual “doing" that’s my downfall. I get too lazy.
Well, time to stop whining and put my (hopefully not for long) big girl pants on!
My current weight this morning was 85.2kg (187.83lbs). My goal weight for the mean time is 70kg, which was my weight roughly 7 years ago. I'm planning on getting there before February, for a close friend's wedding. Someone please tell me if that's stretching too far!
